JULIE ATLAS MUZ, an internationally performing artist who is based between NYC’s Lower East Side and London, UK has been around the block more than twice. One of the most acclaimed, prolific, and experienced creators around, Julie sucker-punches the boundaries between theater, dance, puppetry, film, and burlesque with outrageously loving performances that have secured her place in the underworld of nightlife, as well as solidifying her as a bastion of the art world.

Prior to the global pandemic, Julie performed constantly in the nightlife circuit at any number of underground anti-establishments, notably: The BOX, The Slipper Room, House of Yes, and with Suzanne Bartsch. During the pandemic, Julie has been making short films to begin the transition towards more regularly working on screen - both in front of and behind the camera in a variety of creative roles.

Julie has the balls to back up NY Times quote “the bemused blonde of downtown” and proudly champions the tradition of naked ladies in public spaces as acts of political resistance initiated in the 11th century by Lady Godiva.

A consistent innovator of both form and content, Julie was part of the first wave that reintroduced Burlesque to the world. She also was at the forefront of developing artist residencies in unused realestate at chashama. As part of ONEOFUS, Julie was the first to present relaxed performances for physically and neuro-diverse audiences in the UK & US not specifically for children. ONEOFUS relentlessly demands better access for both the performers and audiences alike. Currently Julie is spearheading the movement to import Panto to the US.
